Lake May Pavement Managment Project
Eustis, FL
Lake May Reserve totals approximately 136 acres. The native landscape of the Reserve consists of xeric oak hammock and a mix of upland scrub, pine and hardwood forested areas. The property also features Lake May, a twenty-acre lake, along with the associated wetlands. In addition, there currently is an actively managed citrus grove and an area of remnant citrus grove. The remnant grove area is in the process of being restored to scrubby flatwoods.
Contracted improvements to the area included an entrance driveway, parking area, and deceleration lane for CR 439. Our team focused on low impact design and innovative stormwater design so that construction would have minimal effects on the native ecology of the park. We prepared and reviewed all bidding documents and specifications for the project and assisted the County with bid solicitation and responses to bidders’ questions.
Our staff was contracted to provide construction administration services, site inspections, utility company coordination, site meeting attendance, and shop drawing review. We were also responsible for coordinating meetings with permitting agencies including the SJRWMD, FDOT, Lake County Building Department, and the City of Leesburg.
