Indian Rocks Beach, FL (December 6, 2018)
We are pleased to announce that Indian Rocks Beach has awarded CPWG Engineering with their Task Order II contract. The contract covers the Overhead to Underground Utility Design along Walsingham Road (from Gulf Boulevard Intercostal Waterway Bridge). Our team already has a wealth of experience gained from designing and supervising underground conversion projects in the area. We are excited to be able to share that knowledge with the City of Indian Rocks Beach.
The main tasks of the contract include:
-Coordination with officials and property owners to obtain easements;
-Design undergrounding of Duke Energy, Frontier (Verizon), and Spectrum (BrightHouse) above ground utilities;
-Lighting design and coordination with Duke Energy;
-Coordination with utility companies to facilitate the conversion to underground utilities;
-Perform Subsurface Utility Excavation (SUE);
-Create CAD drawings showing build-out criteria;
-Identify the equipment to be located in easements;
-Obtain permits for utilities within FDOT right-of-way;
-Meet with FDOT and Indian Rocks Beach staff to facilitate plans production;
-Conduct a field review to replace the aerial connections with underground connections for electric, phone, cable to homes and buildings along the route.
-Perform utility undergrounding construction administration for the project.
CPWG Engineering believes in the power of an informed public. Our information program begins with a public meeting to gain input from local citizens and to share information concerning the project. Our team will also conduct individual field meetings with the affected property owners to discuss the impacts the project may have on their lives.
